Medical Surface Finishing Options

Passivation

316L, 17-4 PH

Removes free iron, maximizes natural chromium oxide layer. Standard for all stainless steel medical parts.

Electropolishing

Stainless Steel

Removes surface material electrochemically, creating ultra-smooth, bright surface with maximum corrosion resistance.

Anodizing Type II

Aluminum

Corrosion protection for aluminum device housings and non-implant structural components.

Bead Blasting

All metals

Uniform matte finish for surgical instruments. Reduces glare under surgical lighting. Non-reflective surface.

Ultrasonic Cleaning

All

Removes machining fluids, chips, and particulate. Pre-passivation and pre-packaging clean standard.

Sterile Packaging

All

Individual sealed packaging for clinical evaluation samples. Clearly labeled with batch, date, and material.

From Prototyping to Scalable Production

Prototypes

Develop high-precision prototypes using production-grade materials to fast-track your design phase. Our team reviews your design files to suggest optimizations in geometry, material selection, and manufacturability, ensuring prototypes align with functional and aesthetic goals.

Engineering Validation And Testing

Refine prototypes through rigorous performance testing and reliability checks. We build functional units that simulate real-world conditions, helping you identify design flaws, material limitations, or ergonomic challenges. Receive actionable insights to enhance product durability and user safety.

Design Validation And Market Testing

Validate your product’s functionality, aesthetics, and user experience before launch. Iterate designs efficiently to reduce time-to-market and costs. Deliver polished prototypes with premium finishes for stakeholder feedback and pilot testing.

Production Validation And Scalability

Prepare for mass production with verified manufacturing workflows and advanced quality controls. Test low-volume batches to optimize tooling, refine processes, and ensure cost-effective scalability.

Mass Production

Our Manufacturing Capabilities

Samshion delivers precision manufacturing solutions tailored for medical devices and equipment. Our state-of-the-art facilities processes ensure compliance with stringent healthcare standards, producing high-quality components for diagnostics, surgical tools, and implantable devices.

Craft biocompatible, sterilizable components (surgical instruments, orthopedic implants, MRI housing) with micron-level tolerances (±0.02mm) using medical-grade metals like titanium, stainless steel 316L, and cobalt-chromium alloys.

Produce high-volume medical consumables (syringes, IV connectors, catheter hubs) with FDA-approved polymers (PEEK, PC, PE) and cleanroom-compliant molding processes.

Form enclosures for diagnostic equipment, surgical trays, and sterilization containers from corrosion-resistant metals, ensuring precision bending and welding for clinical environments.

Prototype patient-specific anatomical models, custom prosthetics, or surgical guides using biocompatible resins, nylon, or sterilizable polymers.

Medical Manufacturing FAQ

We manufacture components for medical devices. We are not a device manufacturer. We support device OEMs with the documentation, biocompatible materials, and quality records needed for FDA 510(k), PMA, and IDE submissions.

We provide material certificates confirming the specific grade and lot of material used. Formal ISO 10993 biocompatibility testing (cytotoxicity, sensitization, etc.) is the OEM’s responsibility, but we supply materials from certified-compliant grades.

Passivation is an electrochemical treatment that removes free iron from stainless steel surfaces, enhancing the natural chromium oxide layer for maximum corrosion resistance. We offer ASTM A967 / ASTM A380 passivation with certification.

Yes. Titanium Grade 23 (Ti-6Al-4V ELI — Extra Low Interstitials) is the highest-purity titanium grade. We machine it with dedicated tooling and coolant systems to avoid contamination.

Passivated 316L and titanium are compatible with autoclave (steam), EtO, gamma irradiation, and cold sterilant. PEEK is autoclave and gamma compatible. Anodized aluminum is EtO compatible. Always verify with your sterilization validation team.

Yes. We support production from single prototypes to clinical pilot batches of 500–5,000 units with full DHR-ready documentation for each batch. Traceability maintained per device.

Yes. We can provide test and validation samples, dimensional inspection reports, material certs, and process records suitable for inclusion in a 510(k) technical file or Design History File.

Yes. Customer quality audits are welcome. Remote video audits are available for international customers. Please contact us to schedule. We maintain calibration records, process SOPs, and training records for audit review.
